Volunteers
Studies show that parental involvement in a child’s education is one of the most important factors in raising student self-esteem and academic achievement.
Moreover, most experts agree that parental involvement should go beyond attendance at teacher conferences and open house.
We realize, however, that each of our families is unique – with its own priorities, needs, talents, and time constraints — and so we try to provide as many different kinds of opportunities for parental involvement as possible.
Please review the volunteer opportunities suggested below.
- Reading with children
- Cooking demonstrations
- Sharing stories
- Sporting activities
- Assisting on trips and educational visits
- Gardening
- Any help or skills you are able to offer would be greatly appreciated.
You’ll need to commit to a regular time each week please so we can plan for you coming along. (It is a requirement of every school that all volunteers have security checks and be able to provide referees).
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please email the school using the address below and put ‘Volunteering’ in the subject box and attach the Volunteer application form
We want volunteers to understand what a really important part of the school community they are. Also if you are considering working in education full time, becoming a volunteer is an excellent way to understand the life of a school and what it is like to work with children. However, if you are able to do more, you might also want to consider becoming a member of the Governing Body or even donating to the school. If you would like to be considered as a Volunteer. Please complete the Volunteer application form and return to the school office either in person or by email.
